<p>With this move, the Abby Canucks now have three healthy goaltenders. Young joins Arturs Silovs and Nikita Tolopilo, with the former earning a 29-save 4-1 victory on Saturday night.</p>
<p>The Canucks have yet to announce an injury, indicating that this promotion is strictly an act of reward.</p>
<p>Young has been incredible down in the third-tier ECHL league. Through 17 games, he sports a .934 save percentage, the second-best among goaltenders. His 2.27 goals against also rank 10th overall. All this to say, his 8-7-0-1 record does not tell the whole story, as he has seen little offensive help during the course of his season.</p>
<p>Those strong numbers are propelled by an incredible stretch, where he’s allowed just two goals over his last three games:</p>
<p>• February 15th – Stops 45 of 47 shots (2-1 loss)<br />
• February 14th – Stops all 37 shots (4-0 win)<br />
• February 8th – Stops all 30 shots (2-0 win)</p>
<p>He also stopped 40 of 43 in his game prior (February 2nd) but lost 4-1.</p>
<p>This will be Young’s second stint in Abbotsford after enjoying an impressive stretch earlier this season. Starting in five games, the Alberta native posted a 3-2-0-0 record with a 2.41 goals against and a .915 save percentage. He allowed just one goal on two occasions.</p>
<p>The former 2022 fifth-round draft pick has quickly established himself as a threatening addition to this organization&#8217;s immediate pipeline in short order. This, just months after deciding whether he’d spend his season at the junior or pro ranks.</p>
<p>It is unclear whether he will see any game action, but it feels unlikely that he&#8217;d earn the call-up without getting into a game during his stay. Stay tuned.</p>
